Describe your skills on a résumé

I already know this — skip it

What is it?

A résumé is a short summary of experience and skills relevant to a job.

Why would I need this?

It helps someone quickly see what you can do.

Show me.

  1. Start with contact information you choose to share with the employer.
  2. List relevant work, training, projects, or volunteer experience accurately.
  3. For each example, say what you did and what skill it used.
  4. Check spelling and follow the requested file format.

Try it.

On paper, write one fictional skill sentence for Alex, who helped organize a supply room.

Watch out for this.

Do not invent qualifications, employers, dates, or certifications.

Explain this another way

Tell the employer about the work, using clear verbs.

Show me an example

Organized supplies so the team could find materials for daily tasks.

What does that word mean?

PDF: A document file format that keeps pages arranged for reading or printing.
