Recognize everyday buttons

I already know this — skip it

What is it?

Buttons tell a device what you want to do next.

Why would I need this?

Stores, websites, and kiosks often use similar actions.

Show me.

  1. Read the label before tapping.
  2. Use Back or Cancel when you are not ready to continue.
  3. Review information before Submit or Confirm.
  4. Ask staff for help when a machine is unfamiliar.

Try it.

Use the button practice below. Nothing is bought, sent, or saved to an account.

Watch out for this.

Do not enter payment or identity details while exploring an unfamiliar screen.

Explain this another way

You can stop and ask. You do not need to guess quickly.

Show me an example

At self-checkout, ask a staff member to show you one item and explain the next step.

What does that word mean?

Upload: Send a copy of a file from your device to another system.

Download: Save a copy of a file from another system onto your device.

You did it.

You have a way to do this. Repeat the practice or move on when you are ready.

Help from HAB is free. Always.

No fees, paid memberships, purchases, or payment pages. You do not need a single penny to get help from HAB.

When a feature needs information, we ask only for the minimum needed to make that feature work. Our approach is to collect and retain only what the feature needs—not to build a detailed profile of you or your child. Hosting and security services may retain technical logs, such as IP addresses.
