Lesson 2 of 3 · about 7 minutes

Separate confirmed, pending, and unknown

I already know this — skip it

What is it?

For this exercise, a contact note separates the answer received from what still needs checking.

Why would I need this?

Practice preserving uncertainty when several people are helping.

Show me.

  1. Record when the contact happened and the staff role if useful.
  2. Write what the provider actually confirmed.
  3. List pending decisions and unanswered questions separately.
  4. Add the next action and who will handle it.

Try it.

A program says an application was received but no place is available yet. Label both facts accurately.

Watch out for this.

Do not change “application received” into “accepted” or “appointment booked.”

Explain this another way

Focus on one small task: separate confirmed, pending, and unknown. You can practice aloud, on paper, or with someone you trust.

HAB practice example: Alex records: “Received: confirmed. Available place: not confirmed. Next step: ask about follow-up timing.”

You did it.

You have practiced a useful next step. Repeat it if you want, or continue at your own pace.
