Decide your boundaries without pressure to reconnect

I already know this — skip it

What is it?

This exercise gives you room to decide what contact, if any, you want while respecting applicable orders and restrictions.

Why would I need this?

Separate your own choices from other people’s expectations about reunion or forgiveness.

Show me.

  1. Name the contact you do or do not want to consider.
  2. Check unclear restrictions through an appropriate professional or official contact.
  3. Tell a trusted supporter what help you want maintaining your boundaries.
  4. Review only when you choose; do not arrange contact through others to get around a restriction.

Try it.

Practice declining an invented request to attend a reunion: “I am not agreeing to contact. Please do not share my information or carry messages for me.”

Watch out for this.

A person’s return does not mean you owe a meeting, forgiveness, reconciliation, or a public response. No exercise here asks you to waive a boundary.

Explain this another way

Focus on one small task: decide your boundaries without pressure to reconnect. You can practice aloud, on paper, or with someone you trust.
