What is it?
A support map lists different kinds of help and asks who is willing and able to provide each one.
Why would I need this?
Practice avoiding an arrangement where one loved one is expected to handle every problem.
Show me.
- List separate needs such as rides, listening, paperwork, or community services.
- Ask the returning person which adults or services they want involved.
- Confirm each offer directly rather than assigning someone without asking.
- Keep uncovered needs visible and plan the next inquiry together.
Try it.
For an invented plan, assign confirmed and pending help to three different needs. A service not yet contacted stays pending.
Watch out for this.
Ask permission before sharing another person’s information with potential helpers. A support map is not consent to disclose their history.
Explain this another way
Focus on one small task: build a support circle beyond one person. You can practice aloud, on paper, or with someone you trust.
Show me an example
HAB practice example: Jordan can offer one ride. Sam will ask a mentor about a weekly call and contact a service about documents.
