Scan and attach a document

I already know this — skip it

What is it?

Uploading sends a file from your device to a website or service.

Why would I need this?

An application may ask for an attachment.

Show me.

  1. Read which document and file type are requested.
  2. On your own device, scan or photograph only the required pages, with all edges visible.
  3. Check that the words are readable and unrelated private information is not included.
  4. Use Choose file or Upload. Check the filename before submitting.

Try it.

Choose the pretend document below. This simulation cannot access or upload real files.

Watch out for this.

Only upload private documents through a verified channel. Do not send them to HAB practice tools.

Explain this another way

Download brings a file to you. Upload sends a copy from you.

Show me an example

The form asks for a résumé PDF. You choose sample-resume.pdf and check its name before submitting.

What does that word mean?

Upload: Send a copy of a file from your device to another system.

Download: Save a copy of a file from another system onto your device.

PDF: A document file format that keeps pages arranged for reading or printing.

Help from HAB is free. Always.

No fees, paid memberships, purchases, or payment pages. You do not need a single penny to get help from HAB.

When a feature needs information, we ask only for the minimum needed to make that feature work. Our approach is to collect and retain only what the feature needs—not to build a detailed profile of you or your child. Hosting and security services may retain technical logs, such as IP addresses.
