What is it?
A follow-through log separates requests, acknowledgments, promises, decisions, and completed actions.
Why would I need this?
Practice reporting progress without calling a reply a resolved problem.
Show me.
- Record the request and its date.
- Record the response using its actual scope.
- Identify who agreed to do what and when, if anyone did.
- Check completion before reporting that the issue is resolved.
Try it.
An invented office replies, “We will review your suggestion.” Label the status and choose an appropriate follow-up question.
Watch out for this.
A review promise is not an implemented change. Keep the distinction visible to the people you are helping.
Explain this another way
Focus on one small task: track an advocacy response accurately. You can practice aloud, on paper, or with someone you trust.

HAB practice example: The log says review promised, decision pending; it does not say the policy changed.
What does that word mean?
