Lesson 5 of 9 · about 7 minutes

Check what each person actually agreed to

I already know this — skip it

What is it?

An agreement check separates what was requested from what was accepted.

Why would I need this?

Practice ending a conversation with a realistic shared understanding.

Show me.

  1. Summarize the action discussed.
  2. Ask what the other person is able and willing to do.
  3. Confirm limits and a next check-in.
  4. Leave unresolved points labeled as unresolved.

Try it.

Practice confirming a ride offered for Tuesday only. Do not turn that offer into a promise of rides all week.

Watch out for this.

A partial agreement is still partial; do not write it as a complete plan.

Explain this another way

Focus on one small task: check what each person actually agreed to. You can practice aloud, on paper, or with someone you trust.

Show me an example

HAB practice example: Alex says: “You can drive Tuesday, but not Thursday. I will arrange Thursday separately.”

You did it.

You have practiced a useful next step. Repeat it if you want, or continue at your own pace.
