What is it?
A responsibility plan describes tasks people have actually agreed to take on now.
Why would I need this?
Practice adjusting roles instead of assuming the household will return to how it used to work.
Show me.
- List recurring tasks such as meals, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
- Discuss each adult’s current schedule, ability, and responsibilities.
- Agree on an initial division and a backup for difficult days.
- Review after a short trial instead of treating the first arrangement as permanent.
Try it.
Assign three invented household tasks while leaving time for work and appointments. Identify one task that still needs discussion.
Watch out for this.
For caregiving involving children, adults must follow applicable arrangements and boundaries. This lesson does not assign children responsibility for an adult’s adjustment.
Explain this another way
Focus on one small task: renegotiate chores and practical responsibilities. You can practice aloud, on paper, or with someone you trust.

HAB practice example: Sam takes two agreed meal-preparation days while Jordan keeps the shopping task for now. They review the plan next week.
