Turn feedback into a next step

I already know this — skip it

What is it?

For this exercise, feedback becomes a specific change you can try and check.

Why would I need this?

Practice asking what to do differently instead of guessing.

Show me.

  1. Listen to the requested change.
  2. Ask for an example if the request is vague.
  3. Repeat the next action in your own words.
  4. Agree on when or how to check the result.

Try it.

A supervisor says, “The handoff needs to be clearer.” Ask what information should be included next time.

Watch out for this.

This exercise concerns routine feedback. It does not decide whether a workplace complaint or instruction is lawful.

Explain this another way

Focus on one small task: turn feedback into a next step. You can practice aloud, on paper, or with someone you trust.

Show me an example

HAB practice example: Alex asks: “Should I include what is finished, what is pending, and who needs the next update?”

What does that word mean?Open the full glossary

You did it.

You have practiced a useful next step. Repeat it if you want, or continue at your own pace.
